Firstly, thank you to everyone who has joined in my Beyond Blonde adventure recently. It is exciting to see the numbers of my followers grow and that my stories of travel and other life events are reaching and engaging with an audience.
Of course, I would also encourage you to follow me on Instagram and Pinterest as well :-)

I have now three days to go before boarding the Emirates flight that will take me on my next adventure. This journey is different for a number of reasons from the ones of the past. So often I have flown from Australia to the UK and Europe and simply passed through Dubai but this time I am spending three nights in the city. I was excited to watch the New Year coming in with the lights show over the Burj Kalifa and thought how exciting it must have been to be there on the night. I was also keen to catch sight of the Fountains display which is at the base of the Kalifa and part of the Dubai Mall. I shall be exploring the city from my base at the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel (no paid promotion, just sharing where I am staying) and am keen to catch the views of the city at night from the club lounge.
Flying into London and I'm staying in the city for a few days before meeting my friend and catching the Calendonian Sleeper train to Aberdeen. Another first for me - travelling with a friend! An adventure for a dedicated solo traveller such as myself. From Aberdeen to Lerwick on the Shetland Island and the culmination of the preparation and planning - the Uphellyaa Viking Festival. The Festival season has begun already in Scalloway but it culminates with the Lerwick event and we are both so excited. There maybe some 'Lets Spot a Viking" activity going on LOL !

From Edinburgh and back to London and two weeks of exploration and R&R and back to being a solo traveller. I won't give away my whole itinerary now but stay tuned, it will be fun. Who knows what I will encounter? I am keenly watching the weather forecast to see if snow is on the horizon.
Storm Troopers, Fairies, Vikings, Scots in kilts, Londoners in suits, views from bridges and a Gherkin! Its all coming up soon and I am prepared for it all.
