Loch/Lake

It was a long weekend to celebrate an Aussie icon sporting game, Australian Rules Football, but our minds and hearts were set on being anywhere but near the game...so off we went down the highway to Gippsland.

What we found was a wonderful little village called Loch. Discovered only by a swift right hand turn inspired from the highway sign saying 'brewery' we found ourselves in another place, if not even another time....
Loch Village is one main street populated by small cafes, boutiques and a well stocked antique/collectables store. The highlight is without doubt Loch Brewery. Handcraft brew with a floral, craft gin the only sensible decision was to imbibe, a seat in the shade, a warm hand and heart nearby.
Our next thought however was towards where to stay....spontaneity is great but one also needs to have a pillow upon which to lay one's head! So 'Little Lake Cottage' came to our rescue.
Situated as part of a working cattle/dairy property in the lush Gippsland hills, Little Lake Cottage is a true rural idyll. Set on the edge of a small lake, I sat on the balcony looking out across the water-birds dipped their wings to the water as they flew across the sight line. Quiet, serene, calm....
